DIY Peter pan easy lanyard.

I found the inspiration for this DIY in the craft store. There were so much fun things that I like. It started with the skull shaped bead and later on I found the rest of the stuff. Hope you like it just as much as I do.

 The thinks you will need:

A large ribbon. (as long as you like)

One ribbon Crimp. (As large as the ribbon)

One cord tip.

Tree small jump rings.

One small split ring.

One head pin.

One Lobster claw clasp.

One Cabochon charm or photo charm.

One photo that fits in the charm.

One skull shaped bead.

One red feather.

Glue (I use 3d kit because the photo won’t wrinkle as much with with other adhesives)

Mod podge dimensional magic.

One a plate plier.

One round-nose plier.

One Wire Cutters

All the materials you can buy in a craft store. I have bought the ribbon and all the jewelry parts at Antoon the Jongh which is a craft store here in the Netherlands.

How to do it:

For this DIY we have 5 different steps. In every step we make a charm to put on the lanyard and the last step is to assemble everything.

Step 1. Making the skull charm.

  • Take the head pin and push it through the skull bead.
  • Then bend the head pin with the round-nose plier to make it round but don’t close it yet.
  • Cut the remaining thread.
  • Take one of the small jump rings and put it in the rounding.
  • Close the rounding with the pliers.

Step 2. Making the feather charm.

  • Take the red feather and clip the cord tip around it. Use the plate plier to do that.
  • Take one jump ring and open it with the pliers.
  • Put the ring through the hole of the cord tip and close it with the pliers.

Step 3. Making the photo charm.

  • Put some glue in the photo charm and spread it around so that it is smooth.
  • Place the photo in the charm and wait till it is dry.
  • Put mod podge dimensional magic one the photo. Pay attention that there are no bubbles in the mod podge dimensional magic. Now wait till it is dry.
  • Take one of the jump rings and open it with the pliers.
  • Put the ring through the hole of the charm and close it with the pliers.

Step 4. Assemble the lanyard.

Take the ribbon and the ribbon Crimp and clip the crimp on the double end of the ribbon.

Take the Lobster claw clasp, the crimp (already on the ribbon) and the split ring. Open the split ring (I use always my nail but you can also use other things like pliers) and slide the clasp and the crimp all the way through the ring.

Take the other charms and slide them through the split ring. You can also open the jump rings again and assemble them on the spilt ring.

Now your lanyard is done.
